GOLDIE, Hugh. British born actor and director. ** He joined the Johannesburg Reps as resident director in 1959. Productions include Dylan Thomas’s Under Milkwood (1959), Shaw’s Caesar and Cleopatra (opening play at the Alexander Theatre, 1960), A Day in the Life Of… (1967), * Returned to England to pursue a successful career as director and actor. Later became Director of Operations at the Theatre Royal, Windsor in England, where a theatre was named after him.

GOLDIE, Hugh. English. He joined the Johannesburg Reps as resident director in 1959. He staged Dylan Thomas’s Under Milkwood for the Reps in 1959. The opening play at the Alexander Theatre was Goldie’s production of Shaw’s Caesar and Cleopatra starring Beryl Gordon in 1960. He staged A Day in the Life Of… starring English actor Harry Towb and his wife Diana Hoddinott for Johannesburg Reps at the Alexander Theatre in 1967
