Performance history in South Africa

1959: Presented by the Reps, directed by Hugh Goldie at the Reps Theatre, with sets designed by Roy Cooke. The cast consisted of Sadie Festenstein, Simon Swindell, Marilyn Patterson, John Rutherford, John Hayter, Arthur Hall and Evelyn Frank. Ironically, though it dealt with love across the colour bar, government policy dictated that the Jamaican boyfriend should be played by a white actor.
