Hofsaal

A Hofsaal is the Dutch and Afrikaans name for a courtroom (literally: "court hall").

In the 19th century such rooms were on occasion used as the venue used for a variety of other community and social events.

The Hofsaal, Malmesbury

The courtroom in the Western Cape town of Malmesbury, used as a venue for performances by touring companies in the vicinity of Cape Town in the mid-19th century.
