Written for performance by the rederijkerskamer Aurora II in 1869

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

1869: Performed by Aurora II in the Oddfellows' Hall, Cape Town, on 2 September, along with recitals of poetry and music by the local Mozart Quartet.

1870: Performed by Aurora II in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, on 12 July, along with Retief Gewroken (Teengs) and recitals of poetry.
