Het Schandmerk, of De Twee Galeiboeven is a Dutch translation of Les Deux Forçats, a French melodrama in 3 acts by Jean Bernard Eugène Cantiran de Boirie, Pierre François Adolphe Carmouche and Adolphe Poujol.


Translated into Dutch by Jan de Quack. Translation published in 1823.

Performance history in South Africa

1826: Performed by Door Yver Vruchtbaar on 22 August in the African Theatre, with Getrouw tot in den Dood (Westerman) as afterpiece.

1834: Performed on 12 April 1834 by Vlyt en Kunst, followed by the musical comedy Het Dorp aan de Grenzen, of De Hollanders en de Brabanders (J. van Lennep)
