Helping Hands is a farce in one act by Tom Taylor (1817-1880)[1]

Not to be confused with The Helping Hands (or Helping Hands) by Gertrude E. Jennings

First performed at the Adelphi Theatre, London on 20 June, 1855.

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

1860: Performed on 29 March by the Cape Town Dramatic Club with the travesty Shylock, or The Merchant of Venice Preserved (Talfourd). The brass band of the Cape Royal Rifles also performed.

1862: Performed by the Cape Town and Royal Alfred Dramatic Club in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town on 2 and 9 September, with an operetta called No!!! (D.L.), and a song by Mr Beverley.
