Heidi is a children's tale by Swiss author Johanna Spyri, published between 1880 and 1881 , originally published in two parts as Heidis Lehr- und Wanderjahre (Heidi's Years of Wandering and Learning") and Heidi kann brauchen, was es gelernt hat ("Heidi: How She Used What She Learned[2] (German: Heidi kann brauchen, was es gelernt hat).[3]
Adapted as an Afrikaans children's play by Tjaart Potgieter.
Adapted as an Afrikaans musical pantomime called Heidi - Die Musiekblyspel ("Heidi - The Musical").
2016: Heidi - Die Musiekblyspel produced by Kunste Onbeperk, performed by the Francois Toerien Geselskap, opening at the KKNK Festival on 24 March. Directed by Francois Toerien with Tobie Cronje, Dawid Minnaar, Albert Maritz, Ilse Klink, Karli Heine, Lynelle Kenned, Jill Middlekop, Dean Balie and Marlo Minnaar. Set design Francois Toerien and Kosie Smit The show won the KykNet Fiesta Award for Best Musical Production and Best Design.
