An autobiographical play utilizing Mhlope’s memories, songs and narratives about her rural youth, to explore the aspirations, secrets and sorrows of young rural women. First performed in 1986, Vanrenen directing Mhlope and Mtshali. First published by Methuen in 1988, later anthologised in many collections. Published by University of Natal Press, also in Black South African Women: an anthology of plays by Skotaville and Routledge.
