(18**-19**) Journalist, playwright and actor. *** A friend of Gustav Preller, he became an important member of the Afrikaans-Hollandsche Toneelvereniging (AHTV) and author of its first-performed play and firm favourite, Ou’ Daniel, which he wrote in 1906 in anticipation of the association’s establishment.
