Hanré Lass won the 1985 Saambou Bursary and the Friends of the Opera Bursary, which allowed her to further her studies in Italy. On her return she joined the PACT Opera permanent chorus and was assigned soloist responsibilities. Ms Lass sang numerous roles for the company. She also performed regularly in soirees and Sunday Morning Opera Concerts. She has sung the roles of "Fenena" in Nabucco, "Sibel" in Faust, "Mercédès" in Carmen "Flora" in La Traviata and "Olga" in The Merry Widow.
