H. Lane Bayliff

(b. 06/04/1870 – d. **/02/1938) British stage actor. Between 1911 and 1918, H. Lane Bayliff was also very active as a producer, notably at the Liverpool Playhouse. He later went to Australia and resumed his theatrical career, acting in a number of productions at the Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne. In 1934 he turned up as the adjudicator of the Australian Women’s Weekly Screen Personality contest. In between he featured in a few films, first one in Great Britain and later in two films by Ken G. Hall in Australia. In The Reef of Stars (1919), the Joseph Albrecht version of the novel by H. De Vere Stacpoole, he played Captain Lant. (FO)
