(b. 06/04/1870 – d. **/02/1938). British stage actor.  Between 1911 and 1918, H. Lane Bayliff was also very active as a producer, notably at the Liverpool Playhouse.  He later went to Australia and resumed his theatrical career, acting in a number of productions at the Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne. In 1934 he turned up as the adjudicator of the Australian Women’s Weekly Screen Personality contest.  In between he featured in a few films, first one in Great Britain and later in two films by Ken G. De Vere Stacpoole]], playing Captain Lant.  He later settled in Australia, where he resumed his theatrical career, acting in a number of productions at the Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne (1926-27).   In 1934 he was the adjudicator of the Australian Women’s Weekly Screen Personality contest and between 1933 and 1937 he also appeared in three films directed by Ken G.
