(b. 06/04/1870 – d. **/02/1938) British stage actor.  Between 1911 and 1918, H. Lane Bayliff was also very active as a producer, notably at the Liverpool Playhouse.  He later went to Australia and resumed his theatrical career, acting in a number of productions at the Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne.  In 1934 he turned up as the adjudicator of the Australian Women’s Weekly Screen Personality contest.  In between he featured in a few films, first in Great Britain and later in two films by ''Ken G. Hall'' in Australia.  In [[The Reef of Stars]] (1919), the [[Joseph Albrecht]] version of the novel by [[H. De Vere Stacpoole]], he played Captain Lant. (FO)
