Biography

Training

Studied Drama at Rhodes University, graduating with BA Honours in 1984.

Career

Joined PACT's permanent company in 1986. He is a member of The Mechanicals Collective.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Acting

While at university he appeared in the ATKV Kampustoneel production of Môre is ‘n Lang Dag which subsequently transferred to the Market Theatre. His debut with PACT was in The Comedy of Errors. He toured with Wild Honey for PACT. He has appeared in Die Ketter and Die Huigelaar (TRUK, 1986), Entertaining Mr Sloane, Looking-Glass, Die Prys, National Madness, Look Back in Anger, Wuthering Heights, The Real Inspector Hound and he starred in Telegrams From Hell and in David Mamet’s Oleanna in 1993. Acted in Women Beware Women (2007), Buried Child (2008), Glengarry Glen Ross (2008) and played the role of Lenny, the director, in The Bird Watchers directed by Fugard in May 2011.

He performed with Megan Kruskal in Love Story at the Market Theatre. Date unknown.

Lighting designer for Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey presented by The Mechanicals at The Intimate Theatre

He designed the 2011 production of Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act.
