Guernica, an earthy verbal re-creation of Picasso’s famous painting, in which an old Basque couple is caught in the air raids, by Spanish playwright, screenwriter, film director, novelist and poet Fernando Arrabal Terán (1932-*).

An English translation was published in the 1960s by Calder & Boyars.

In South Africa the play was performed by students of the Potchefstroom University at the National Arts Festival, 1984, directed by Linda van Vuuren, featuring Hannes Muller, Janine Pretorius, André Geldenhuis, Magda Visser, Isabelle Mostert.
