Gillian was born in Natal and studied at UCT.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She spent two-and-a-half years with PACT Playwork where she compiled and directed a school's porgramme as well as taking part in others.

She has appeared in Hamlet (PACT 1978), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Scathkadie the Sorceress, El Grande de Coca Cola (1979), Wind in the Branches of the Sassafras (with PACT in 1979), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Scathkadie the Sorceress (1981).

Television appearances include Guests at the Villa Victoria, Macbeth and The Settlers.
