Gestrafte Nieuwsgierigheid ("Punished Curiosity") is a two-act farce in Dutch-Afrikaans by Melt Brink.

The original text

First performed by Aurora in 1907(?), it originally published as Gestrafte nuwsgierigheid : blijspel in twee bedrijwe vir 5 dames en 1 heer by De Bussy (Pretoria) and HAUM (Cape Town) in 1907, and then reprinted in 1915 and 1920.

Also published as part of the compilation Ons Hou Konsert by [[Robert Mohr by DALRO in 1973. Performed in 1907?*, published in 1907, reprinted 1915, 1920as by HAUM.

Used as one of the texts in the compilation Ons Hou Konsert II by Robert Mohr (1983).

1905: Gestrafte Nieuwsgierigheid first performed by Aurora in Cape Town

1962: Presented by Universiteitsteater Stellenbosch as Gestrafte Nuuskierigheid in 1962.


1967: Die Egskeiding performed as part of Ons Hou Konsert (Melt Brink/Robert Mohr) by CAPAB in the Hofmeyr Theatre on 13 October. The cast included Nerina Ferreira, who was nominated for the Three Leaf award as the best female lead.

1968: Die Egskeiding performed as part of Ons Hou Konsert (Melt Brink/Robert Mohr) by [[CAPAB] on tour

197*: Die Egskeiding performed as part of Ons Hou Konsert (Melt Brink/Robert Mohr) by PACT in the Breytenbach Theatre, Pretoria

1981: Die Egskeiding performed as part of Ons Hou Konsert (Melt Brink/Robert Mohr) by SWAPAC in Windhoek.

1999: Die Egskeiding performed as part of an adapted version (by Peter Snyders) of Ons Hou Konsert (Melt Brink/Robert Mohr) by [[CAPAB], as a tribute to Robert Mohr at the KKNK and in the Nico Arena.
