(b. **/**/1886? - d. 18/01/1923). Actor. George Arthur Leddra acted in at least two films for [[African Film Productions]]. In 1917 he had an unidentified role (credited as Geo. Ledra) in ''[[And Then ---]]'', directed by [[Dick Cruikshanks]] and [[Joseph Albrecht]], and the following year he played Private Tommy Atkins, one of the Prince Imperial's bodyguards in ''[[The Symbol of Sacrifice]''], also directed by Cruikshanks. According to his gravestone in the Stellawood Cemetery in Durban he died in an accident while in the employ of AFP, possibly during the filming of ''[[The Reef of Stars]]''. He was survived by his wife, Kathleen Isabella Leddra. He may previously have served in the South African Constabulary and was discharged in 1906 "due to reduction of establishment". (FO)
