George Giddens (1845-1920)[1] was a leading British comic actor and theatre manager.

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He was brought to Cape Town in 1904 for a season presented by The Wheeler Company in the Good Hope Theatre, appearing in Are You a Mason? (opening 4 April), On and Off and Husbands and Wives. Called a "leading light of the English stage" by Boonzaier (1928)
