George Case was an actor and company manager.

Sometimes billed simply as Mr Case.

Biography

He was married to the actress Joyce Egerton (also billed as Miss Egerton) and the couple later had their own company, known as the Egerton and Case Company.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

They had arrived in South Africa as members of Disney Roebuck's company in 1878, but during Roebuck's absence in from the country, they rented the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, from 7 - 16 August to do their own productions as the Egerton and Case Company, and also hosting other performers and companies. (For the performances, see the entry on the Egerton and Case Company)
