Biography

Geon Nel is a South African actor and Magician, known for his TV role in Vallei van Sluiers as the character Willem Greyling. He grew up in Gansbaai in the Western Cape. After matriculating at Overberg High he lived in London for 2 years where he worked as a magician.

Training

Trained at the University of Stellenbosch.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Geon has appeared on stage in Bloeiende Lente (2005), Romeo and Julia (Vleis, Rys en Aartappels, 2005), Kringe in 'n Bos, The Seagull, Balbesit, Nêrens, Noord-Kaap, Oorsee, Moeder Moe den Haar Kinders.

He wrote Die Goëlaar with Hugo Theart, a solo piece performed at the Aardklop festival in 2013.

He worked with Quentin Krog on the translation of Cock and Bull Story into Afrikaans, entitled Boks.
