General Francis Dundas (c.1759-1824) was a British general and acting governor of the Cape Colony between 1798 and 1803.

He was an ally of Sir George Yonge[1]; and he and his wife, Mrs Eliza Dundas, were supporters of the amateur theatricals of the Garrison Players and the building of the African Theatre, his support enabling the opposition to come round to accepting the project.
