Gems is the title given to programme of excerpts from eight plays from her repertoire, presented by the British actress Ada Ward in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, on 18 September, 1878, while in South Africa. This was done as part of a benefit for Ward by the Smith and Thatcher Company.
