GIBSON, Gay. (Born Eileen Isabella Ronnie Gibson: 1926-1947) English actress. ** The daughter of an English businessman, Gibson had always hankered after a life on the stage. First came to prominence in South Africa where she had appeared in a number of plays as part of her duties with the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service. She starred in ''[[The Man With a Load of Mischief]]'' opposite former British boxing champion ''[[Eric Boon]]'', ''[[The Silver Cord]]'' for the [[Johannesburg Repertory Society|REPS]] in 1947 and [[Henry Gilbert]]’s production of Clifford Odets’s ''[[Golden Boy]]'' (also with Boon in 1947), the last production at The [[Standard Theatre]].
