Gavin R. Baker (1970-) Drama lecturer, writer and director.


Biography

Youth

Training

He studied at Rhodes University from 1989 to 1992 (B.A.(Hons)), University of Stellenbosch (M.Dram) and University of Zululand (D.Phil. in Communication Science, 2001).

Career

Taught movement and acting at the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Zululand in South Africa.

He moved to the United Kingdom where he taught at the Glyndwyr University and later became Principal Lecturer in Performing Arts at University of Cumbria. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. He consults as an academic advisor on curriculum development and retention.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
