G. Wannenburg (fl 1870's-1880's) was an amateur actor.

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

A Mr Wannenburg is mentioned as a member of the Dutch society Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town between 1843 and 1857, while a G. Wannenburg is named as a member of and actor for the Kamer de Eendracht ("chamber of unity") in Cape Town in the years 1876-1883, the latter a society bearing the motto "Door Oefening wordt de kunst verkregen" ("art is attained through practice"). They are probably the same person.
