Fritz Kok (19*-). Cultural leader.

He did his doctorate on the history of the Afrikaans cultural organisation, the ATKV, of which he had become director in 1981. Under his leadership a number of initiatives to promote the Afrikaans language and culture among Afrikaans-speaking people were launched, significantly altering the once conservative organizations' image and approach. One of the most important was projects he initiated was the ATKV Kampustoneel project in 1982?*. Later he was to play an important role in the creation of the Afrikaans arts festivals as well, by involving the ATKV as a major facilitator and sponsor.
