Friends and Neighbours is a 1958 comedy play by British playwright Austin Steele

Translations and adaptations

In 1959 a British comedy film Friends and Neighbours [1], based on Steele's stage play was made, directed by Gordon Parry and starring Arthur Askey, Megs Jenkins and Peter Illing.

Performance history in South Africa

1962: Staged by Taubie Kushlick, directed by Charles Vernon, with Helen Braithwaite (Doris Holmes), Patricia Sanders (Lily Grimshaw), Annabel Linder (Susan Grimshaw), George Lane (Albert Grimshaw), Frank Douglass (Wilf Holmes), Charles Vernon (Sebastian Green), Yossi Graber (Vladimir Previtch) and Maureen Pliss (Petri Garanaklova).
