Friday's Bread on Monday is a collage of serious sketches on life in New Brighton Township (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) created circa 1970 by the Serpent Players. Although it deals with deprivation it is not a cry for sympathy. It is built mainly on mime.

Performance history in South Africa

Presented on tour by the Serpent Players in a double bill with The Cure, directed by John Kani, 1970.
