Frederik en Charlotte, of De Edelmoedige Belooning der Deugd ("Frederik and Charlotte, or The noble reward for virtue") is a Dutch play in three acts by Pieter 't Hoen (1745-1828).

The original text

Described by Van Bork et al. in the Dutch Algemeen Letterkundig Lexicon[1] as a good example of the 18th century "comédie larmoyante"[2] (sentimental comedy or "tearjerker" as it would possibly be known today), the text was published in Amsterdam and Utrecht by G.T. van Paddenburg en zoon and M. Schalekamp in 1793.

1851: Performed in Dutch as Frederik en Charlotte, of De Edelmoedige Beloning der Deugd by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst on 28 August, with Ieder Veege Zyn Eigen Vloer (Beaunoir).
