Career

Loyally served as designer alongside his wife Doreen Graves for National Theatre Organisation (NTO) until its absolvement into regional arts councils in 1963.

Among his best known work was Die Jakkalsstreke van Scapino, Skrikkeljaar, Ugo Betti, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll,Volpone, Germanicus, Die Hemelbed, Moeder Hanna, Nie vir Geleerdes, The Cave Dwellers, Charley's Aunt, The Chairs, The Diary of Anne Frank, Summertime, The Heiress, The Sacred Flame, Present Laughter, Koning Oidipus, The Prisoner, The Rainmaker, Saint Joan, The School for Scandal, Twelfth Night, The Blood Knot, The Fall, Die Honderdste Verjaarsdag, The Gioconda Smile, Tussen Twee Liefdes, Escapade, The Italian Straw Hat, Clutterbuck, Mornings at Seven, Romeo en Jeanette, She Stoops to Conquer.
