Frances Michaletos (19**- ) is a South African costume, decor and lighting designer.

Biography

She studied graphic design at the Pretoria Technikon and joined PACT's Art Department in 1969. Married to South African lighting designer Nic Michaletos.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Frances designed for productions of Oscar (1983), Kinkels innie Kabel, A Lad 'n a Lamp (1988), The Front Page, Sufficient Carbohydrate and designed costumes for Plaston: DNS-Kind, The Crucible, The Comedy of Errors, Die Vrek (1976), Die Reënmaker (1984), A Streetcar Named Desire, The Story of an African Farm, Die Verminktes.

Awards, etc.

In 2000 she was the winner of a Vita Award (Gauteng region) in the category "best costume designer" for Cinders and Her Fella.

She was nominated for a Vita Award (Gauteng region) as best costume designer for a production of A Lad 'n a Lamp (award year 2001).
