Frame Work is a play in two acts (Act I: The Dream, Act II: The Betrayal), by Peter Wilhelm.

The original text

According to Wilhelm (in Contemporary South African Plays), the play is about "the inevitable failure of idealism; the inevitable victory of entropy".

The play was originally titled Conspiracy and was adapted from an incomplete prose novella.

Act I: The Dream was published in the anthology Contemporary South African Plays, 1977, pp 267-282.

Performance history in South Africa

1975 - a production of the play, by a student group at Wits University, was due to be performed, but was cancelled a week before opening night.
