Edited by Zakes Mda and published by Vivlia Press in 1996.

Contains:

So What's New? (Fatima Dike) Four Plays is a milestone in the study of South Africa theater. It contains works by playwrights who have distinguished themselves, not only in South Africa but in the theater capitals of the world, over two decades. Three of the plays represent the new theater that is emerging in post-apartheid South Africa. The fourth play represents a theater of resistance that was common during the days of apartheid. It is however still relevant today since the subject with which it deals continues to be close to many people's hearts. The introduction by the distinguished international scholar, Prof. Zakes Mda, gives an insightful overview of theater in South Africa -- making this anthology suitable for both students and practitioners of the art.
