English in Africa

English in Africa is a scholarly journal devoted to writing in the English language in Africa. Founded in 1974, it focuses on original research on African writing in English, with a leaning towards historical rather than theoretical enquiry.

This journal is accredited for subsidy purposes, and is published three times a year by the Institute for the Study of English in Africa, Rhodes University.
