Biography

Emma-Jane was born in Johannesburg, spent nine years abroad, living in Canada, Brazil and England before returning to the Cape at the age of fourteen. She matriculated in 1985.

Training

She attended the University of Cape Town's Drama School where she studied for a Performers Diploma concurrently with a BA degree.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student she starred in Blithe Spirit and The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail.

She starred in Romeo and Juliet at the State Theatre and the Alexander Theatre in 1992, The Substance of Fire 1993, On the Open Road 1994.

Other theatre productions to her credit are Downside Up which was directed by Megan Wilson and The Great Gatsby, directed by Craig Freimond.

Awards, etc

Nominee "Most promising student", Fleur du Cap 1990.

Nominee IGI Life Vita Award 1991/1992 (National) for her role in Romeo and Juliet [actress of the year].
