She not only trained such notable actors as Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud and Peggy Ashcroft, but also indirectly influenced a whole range of South African practioners who had studied with her.
These include the actress and director Marda Vanne; the speech teacher and director Minna Freund (who later taught voice and speech at the Little Theatre in Cape Town);
