Een Huwelijksadvertentie, of De Geplaagde Schoolmeester ("A wedding advertisement, or the plagued teacher") is a comedy by Jacobus Broekhoff (1839-)[1] (also known by his pseudonym "Jaco").

The original text

Written for performance by the Rederijkerskamers in the Netherlands, it was published by Hoorn in 1875.

Translations and adaptations

Performance history in South Africa

1878: Performed by Aurora II on 14 May in the Athenaeum Hall, with Arthur, of Zestien Jaren Later (Dupeuty, Fontan and Avrigny).

1886: Performed by Aurora II on 4 August in the Oddfellows Hall, with Liefde voor het Vaderland (Van der Stempel).
