(19*-) British actor and director. ** He starred in an imported British production of Rattle of a Simple Man, presented by Taubie Kushlick, with Pauline Stroud, Kerry Jordan and stage director Valda Blumberg in 1961. Quoted from the programme of Rattle of a Simple Man in 1961: 'In 1957 Edward Woodward starred in The Queen and the Welshman Edinburgh Festival. He received rave notices. In 1958 season at Stratford - 1959 - 1960 starred in television. May 1960 played the lead in The Art of Living, Criterion Theatre. Just finished a tour with Margaret Rutherford. Early in the new year he will play the part he is playing tonight in the West End.'
