Edward My Son

Edward My Son is a play written in 1947 by South African-born American playwright Noel Langley [1]] (1911-1980) and English actor Robert Morley [2] (1908-1992), about a ruthless businessman and his alcoholic wife.

First performed in 1948 in London and New York, with Robert Morley, Peggy Ashcroft, Ian Hunter and Leueen McGrath.

1950: Presented by Brian Brooke at His Majesty's Theatre, starring Brooke as Arnold holt, Petrina Fry, Michael Marais (as Harry Soames), Brenda Walter.

1950: Performed by the Brian Brooke company in 1950 at the Hofmeyr Theatre, Cape Town, directed by Gabriel Toyne, with Gabriel Toyne, Nigel Hawthorne, Brian Brooke (as Arnold Holt), Petrina Fry, Shaun Sutton and others.
