Also known as The Earth Players, Earth Players is a company formed by Percy Mtwa and Mbongeni Ngema in May 1980.

Their first production was Woza Albert!, which they created and first presented in 1981, a work the company took on tour over a number of years.

The next work was Bopha!, which Percy Mtwa wrote and directed. It was staged at The Laager in October 1985, as a Market Theatre and Earth Players collaboration.
