Stage and film actor and director,  and well known mime-artist. ** Studied in France with Marcel Marceau. *** Productions include The Chairs (Ionesco) which he translated and directed for NTO in the NTO Kamertoneel (1959),  Comoedia (a mime programme for NTO, 1960),  Jean Anouilh’s Romeo and Jeanette for PACT (1963), *** Died tragically on the set of a film he was directing, when a light aircraft hit him while setting up the shot.

(19*-) Bilingual Afrikaans-English actress. *** Trained as a contemporary dancer and studied drama at the University of Pretoria[?*]alongside dance because she wanted to go into choreography. The decision to go into drama was not automatic or sudden, but a natural progression. *** In 1999 moved to Canada with her actor husband Stephen Jennings. DANGOR, Achmat. (1948-) Novelist, playwright and poet. **** He was banned from 1973-1978. Winner of the Mofolo-Plomer Prize for Waiting for Leila (1981), while his poetry was published in the journals  Wietie and  Staffrider, anthologised in  A Century of South African Poetry (1981) and published in the collection Bulldozer (1983).
