DramAidE (short for "Drama in AIDS Education") was established in 1992 as an outreach agency of the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The organisation makes use of researched drama methodologies to communicate effectively about issues relating to sex, sexuality and HIV/AIDS. The organisation has expanded and developed over the years and is currently delivering a number of ongoing programmes that reach campuses, schools and communities countrywide. DramAidE has developed models of ‘action media’ community campaigns that have been evaluated independently, and some programmes have been replicated nationally.
