Drakenstein is a musical play by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969).

The original text

An adaptation of his own dramatic oratorio Die Blom van Orleans ("The flower of Orleans"), it is referred to as "’n sangspelagtige stuk" (or "musical-like piece") by the author.

Published in the collection Die Meul Dreun en Ander Toneelwerk by Nasionale Pers in 1943.

Performance history in South Africa

1939: Possibly performed on 22 September as an occasional piece during the Hugenotefees in Bloemfontein.
