Don Gxubane Onner die Boere (“Don Gxubane among the Farmers/Boers”) is an Afrikaans satirical play by Charles J. Fourie (1965-).

The original text

Based on Bartho Smit's satire Don Juan onder die Boere, the play was first performed the buhte students of the University of Cape Town in 1994 and published in the collection Vrygrond en Ander Dramas by Tafelberg Publishers in the same year. Also appeared as a single play, published by New Contrast Publishers. It won the SACPAC Best New Play of the Year Award in 1994.

Performance history in South Africa

1994: First performed by UCT in Hiddingh Hall in Cape Town and then taken to Kampustoneel 1994.

1994: Staged by PACT at the Arena at the State Theatre (August 1994) directed by Megan Willson, design by Chris van den Berg, lighting by Mark Behrens starring Ramolao Makhene, Louis van Niekerk, Marion Holm, Nana Stapelberg, Meme Ditshego, Hannes Muller and John Goddard.
