First performed at the Adelphi theatre, London in 1830s. Originally published by Abel Heywood & Son Ltd., Manchester.

Performance history in South Africa

Performed on Monday 2 July 1855 in the Drawing Room Theatre in Cape Town by Sefton Parry, along with Delicate Ground, or Paris in 1793 (Dance) and Monsieur Jacques (Barnett)
