He wrote the play Twee shwarmas en 'n fallafel performed at the Dalro/Potpourri Festival in 1991.

Dirk, Tracy Webster, and William Carnegie have taken a play called Aids: It's Your Life to classrooms, volleyball courts and synagogues from Durban to Botswana in 1993.

He has appeared on stage in productions of The Story of Margaret Harding (as Paul du Preez, NAF 1991), Die Wonderwerk (as James Keller, 1991), "Majoor" in Die Keiser (PACT 1992), Verste Grens (1993), Is the Mouse Boss? (1994), "Bullet" in Hartebees by Alexander Strachan. (KKNK, 2000).

He had a role in the pantomime Rooikappietjie in 1996.

He directed Another Time starring Zane Meas and Carmin Coetzer in October 2014.

On television he starred in the KykNet drama Plek van die Vleisvreters 2004, Swartwater (SABC), as Stefan Ferreira in Erfsondes and in the film Stoute Boudjies.
