Biography
Dimitri lectured in photography at Michaelis Art School, Cape Town, in the 1970s. He subsequently moved to England.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He worked at The Space in the 1970s, directing Ashes, The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant, 'Endgame, The First South African, The Incredible Jungle Journey of Fenda Maria, Macrune’s Guevara, Magic Afternoon, Miss South Africa and Sea Anchor.
He designed Lysistrata S.A. and Sea Anchor Ashe and lighting design for Dimetos, The First South African, Medea and Mixed Doubles and was stage manager on Dimetos.
He also presented two performance art pieces of his own there** and was building manager for the revamping of the new Space theatre in Long Street. *
