Die Swaweltjie is Dood is the translation into Afrikaans of a play in one act (original title of the play and name of the translator unknown, although it is probably the play Underground, 1937) by K. Etheridge (possibly Welsh poet, playwright and painter Ken (Kendrick) Etheridge (1911-1981)). The play gives a glimpse into the lives of coal miners who live in the constant fear of rockfalls.
