Die Mühle bei Auerstädt, oder Die Unverhoffte Erbschaft ("The mill at Auerstadt, or the unexpected legacy") is a German historical play in four acts by Carl Ernst (possibly a pseudonym[1])

Published by Bolling in 1810.

Translations and adaptations

Freely translated into Dutch as De Molen bij Auerstad by C. Sauer and published in Amsterdam by J.G. Rohloff, 1812.

There is apparently also a version by J. de Boer.

Performance history in South Africa

1849: Performed in Dutch as De Molen by Auerstad by Tot Oefening en Vermaak on 26 September in the Hoopstraat-Skouburg (Hope Street Theatre) in Cape Town, with as afterpiece Dirk Menschenschrik (Holberg).
